My Design Philosophy
The art of creating works of multimedia is like the art of fencing. They are both gestalt forms where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Each individual part builds and supports the others, combining together into a conglomerate that can display a full concept. With fencing footwork, posture, blade position, tip position, speed, and motion combine into forms such as thrust, parry, and riposte. With multimedia audio, video, graphics, and interactivity combine into forms such as websites, presentations, and movies. Sitting above all of these elements, multimedia or fencing, are the concepts of balance and harmony.
